Diseases Update:

New Diseases in Illinois. Accurate diagnosis of diseases is the mos important step in management of plan diseases. During 1999-2002, eight new vegerable diseases were identified in Illinois. Theses diseases are: Alternaria leaf spot of horseradish (1999), bacterial rind necrosis of watermelon (2000), tobacco etch virus on tomato (2000), Plectosporium bligh of pumpkin (2000), root knot nematode of horseradish (2001), bacterial fruit blotch of watermelon (2001), dodder in various fields (2001), and southern bligh of pepper (2002).
