Fungicide Resistance. Development of resistance in fungi against fungicides is a common phenomenon. Strobilurins are relatively new fungicides, effective against many plant diseases, including powdery mildew of cucurbits. But, it appears that these fungicides are becoming less effective against powdery mildew, due to development of resistance in the causal agents.
